―Knots

Crystal Corridor is a 2.1 Easy Demon created and verified by Knots. It was released on June 7th, 2021. The level is built in the modern art style and is themed around crystals and technology. The level also features clean transitions, movements, and effects. The level is praised by the community for being much different than the types of levels Knots usually makes, with an interesting and unique theme.

Gameplay[]

The gameplay of Crystal Corridor is similar to other levels by Knots, with some gameplay sections that stand out compared to them. The level has both fast and slow sections and mostly uses cube and ship.

  • 0-5%: The first section of Crystal Corridor is a half-speed cube section with a few dash orbs. The background of the section is dark and contains a monitor, which flashes some symbols as the player progresses. Then, the player lands on a platform and the text "Initiate vapor deposition" is displayed as the player hits a red pad that takes them to the next section.
  • 6-12%: This part is a ship section with many teleport portals and gravity changes. The background of this part displays some sort of a storage room with detailed windows. Three-dimensional looking pink crystals float around in this section like in zero-gravity, so this part might be located in space.
  • 13-19%: This section starts with a UFO part that starts out normal size and becomes mini soon after, with some gravity change portals. The background displays a pink crystal on a pedestal surrounded by glowing small crystals. After the UFO part, the level turns clockwise and flips upside down as the player becomes a cube. There is only the first crystal in the background of this part. After the level flips, five asterisks appear between brackets at the beat of the song. The block underneath the cube then falls, taking the player to the next section.
  • 20-24%: This section is a mini ball part with some orbs and teleport portals. The objects in this part are red and green and are technological-themed.
  • 25-29%: This section is a mini spider part. The objects in this part pulse and move into place as the player progresses. After the spider ends, the player must hit five orbs to enter the first drop section.
  • 30-48%: The first section of the drop is at triple-speed and contains cube, ship, ball, and wave. The player must hit many orbs during this section. The background displays some sort of airship and some floating crystals. After the fast form transitions, an animation occurs with a screen displaying a play button.
  • 49-56%: This section, dubbed "PHASE 2," has a mini cube dual for most of the part and a short mini ship dual at the end. The gameplay is symmetrical and is somewhat easy to read. The platforms that the cubes jump on appear from the right side of the screen and move into place when the player gets close. The mini ship dual is slightly asymmetrical. The player must fly the bottom ship straight because the top ship has much less room, and will crash if the player flies the bottom ship too far upwards. The BGA (back-ground animation) of the part shows a flashing pink crystal with the label "#28 Internal chambers" and some moving arrows.
  • 57-64%: This section is a mini ship part and returns to the dark aesthetic of the pre-drop parts. In this section, the player must maneuver though moving objects with gaps in them, sort of like pipes in Flappy Bird levels. Toward the end of the section, an object appears in the middle and the player can fly either up or down to avoid it before having to go back to the center. The background of this section is full of flashing moving effects and the number "007" is displayed on the bottom right.
  • 65-75%: After a white background transition displaying three numbers, the player becomes a slow mini robot and must carefully jump onto platforms and avoid spikes. After the robot part, the player becomes a mini wave and must move around three spinning circular crystal wheels. After the wave part, the player becomes a cube again. The background of this entire section displays a crystal in a glass chamber which spins clockwise as the player advances through the section.
  • 76-81%: This section, dubbed "PHASE 3," has the same game modes as the second section of the level, ship and UFO, except these game modes are now mini. The ship part consists of flying around glowing green planets and the UFO part consists of clicking/tapping through gravity portals inside of moving structures.
  • 82-85%: A moon appears in the sky and goes toward the screen to become the ground for a mini cube part. The player must make three jumps on the moon before transitioning to the next part with a white screen that displays the word "INNOVATION".
  • 86-90%: After the transition, the player becomes a cube and must hold down on two dash orbs, before doing some curved flying as a ship and holding another dash orb at the end. The background of this section is stacked layers of machines that bob up and down during the section.
  • 91-95%: The last section starts off with a cube part, then a short wave part, and ends with a mini cube part. In the background, a pink crystal inside of a crescent moon shaped object comes down from the sky as the level ends.
  • 96-100% (End Screen): The first screen displays a pulsing crystal and lists two people that Knots wanted to give special thanks to: Arb and Xyle. The background then becomes digital-style green and displays the level name as well as Lyssyx holding a pink crystal with several crystals flying around her.

User coins[]

Crystal Corridor has three verified user coins. Viprin says that taking the coin routes buffs the level to Medium Demon.[1]

  • Coin 1: During the spider section right before the first drop, there is a custom pink key hidden at the top. The player has to make three quick spider inputs to grab the key and get back to the platforms. The key alters the gameplay of the first drop. After the next short ship section, the player's cube goes into a custom portal and into the level's background, where the player has to grab the coin and return to the main route afterwards. A Memorable Note uses a similar concept with the ball game mode.
  • Coin 2: After the short mini ship dual, instead of flying through the gaps like in the normal route, the player must hit two yellow orbs and two green orbs with their ship. This will allow the player to fly into the middle when the path splits into two, buffing the next ship part and allowing the player to grab the coin.
  • Coin 3: Directly after the ship section where you can find the second coin, the background displays three numbers. The set of three numbers is randomized, although there are only three sets that can be displayed: 1-6-9, 2-4-9, and 4-5-7. This code must be put into a terminal at the end of the level. To reach this terminal, the player must skip the first dash orb in the final section and hit the blue orb to take the top path. The terminal has ten possible inputs, and the player must jump to hit the buttons that correspond with the set of three numbers displayed before. If the player's input is correct, a door opens up, allowing the player to grab the coin and complete the level. If the input is incorrect, the door stays closed and the player will crash.
