DIAMOND BLADE is an unrated 2.1 solo XL joke Extreme Demon created, hack-verified, and published by IcEDCave, and verified legitimately by UFokinWotM8. It is widely known for its odd gameplay, as well as its difficulty, specifically on the first wave. It is heavily focused on wave consistency and spam.

Overview

The main point of this level is to be a "Layout" level with no decoration. It has very odd gameplay, with some free parts, auto parts, some Extreme-Demon difficulty parts, with invisible gravity portals and teleportation portals during the auto parts, making it almost impossible to sight-read the next section. It is considered an "extended challenge" due to its heavily unbalanced difficulty and the fact that IcEDCave said that it was a challenge that was "a bit too long", and thus turned into a full-length level. Opinions on its difficulty range wildly, with some players saying that it is Top 5 difficulty on the Geometry Dash Demonlist, while others say it is Extended List difficulty.

History

This level was showcased by IcEDCave using noclip and speed hacks on May 5, 2019. In the video, he claimed that the level is impossible due to the amount of consistency needed to get through the first wave. In its first showcase, the level did not garner much attention. Despite this, many challenges consisting of the first wave being nerfed (or unnerfed) were made and beaten by players like Dorami.

During 2020, the level grew in popularity when the player BGram achieved a world record of 41% and some runs like 24-75% and 46-95% but later gave up.

The level became more popular when player UFokinWotM8 posted a video of him achieving 27%. Later, he would get unbelievable records (at the time) of 66% and 95%. Later, he posted a video where he passed the first wave six times in a row while trying to beat the level. He beat the level legitimately on July 24, 2020.

Gameplay

• 0-24%: After a short auto section, the player goes through a short straight fly section. After this, the player enters the first wave section. This part is the most well-known part of the level; a consistency-based wave part. The clicks are heavily synced to the music, so spam is sometimes required.
• 25-58%: After the wave part comes the extremely unorthodox part of the level. This part is hard to sight-read. It has full of auto parts, precise clicks with the ball, spammy clicks with the spider, a UFO spam part, and a very tight timing-based mini-wave mini-section, similar to the start of the level. There are D-blocks in the section, and the speed frequently changes, making muscle memory a must.
• 59-77%: The player has to go through a very long straight fly section, with consistent gravity changes. It is a typical one-block straight fly, but its length makes it comparable in difficulty to other parts of the level.
• 78-100%: After an auto part, where the player lands into some blocks with invisible teleport portals, there is a >10 cps spam section with yellow orbs. After a four-second-auto-part, there is an auto wave section with D-blocks. The level ends with a part that requires fast consistency clicking in the mini-wave spam part.

• There is a sequel of this level called CRYSTAL EDGE that UFokinWotM8 verified on July 13, 2021.
• Among skilled players, this is an "Extended List" difficulty level, this means that this is the 3rd hardest "Layout" level, below xo but above Conical Depression, (with the two latter levels both being created and verified by KrmaL).
• IcEDCave believed that the level was impossible due to the first wave, but after UFokinWotM8 beat it, many players surpassed it.
