“ | XXL Insane Demon Megacollab! 3rd level by Lightning Collab Team 8) Verified by Luciela :^) | ” |
―KeiAs |
Fabrication is a 2.0/2.1 Extreme Demon mega-collaboration hosted and published by KeiAs, created by the members of Lightning Team, and verified by Nisha on May 19, 2017. It was originally an Insane Demon but was buffed to Extreme Demon difficulty and re-verified by Nisha on May 21, 2018. It is the third mega-collaboration hosted by KeiAs and contains only Korean creators. It is known for being extremely inconsistent, with huge difficulty spikes and choke points scattered throughout the level.
Gameplay[]
It has been requested that this section be rewritten.
- 0-3% (KrampuX): Fabrication begins with a small cube section with few timings that transitions into a small but extremely difficult wave section. The mini-wave is one of the most disliked portions of the level. The wave enters into a robot section with two difficult timings before entering a simple UFO segment and another difficult wave section.
- 3-6% (Soulwinds): Next comes two small ball- and cube sections with easy timings before the player is teleported into a half-speed mini-ball section with easy timings that sync to the music. The player transitions into a short and easy cube section before another UFO section that has one semi-difficult timing.
- 6-14% (Motu): As the player enters a ship portal, they can collect the first secret coin in the level. This part begins with a long double-speed ship sequence with difficult orb timings and many straight-fly sections. One such straight-fly has a large gear underneath the player, and one has spikes gradually advancing towards the player before they enter a UFO portal. The next UFO section contains a few difficult timings, with a small straight-fly ship section between the normal and mini-sized gameplay. A difficult wave section follows, with extreme timings and gravity switches and a tight dual wave section within it. The player is then thrown into a tiny ball section with semi-hard timings before entering a mini-cube section with trick orbs and a trick path to get into a mini-ship section with several easy timings and a few orb clicks.
- 14-20% (T3chnolitz): This part begins with a single-speed ship section with tight spaces and lots of straight-flying, including a moving object the player must avoid. The player then enters an extremely tight wave section, one of the gaps just barely wide enough for the player to fit through. There is a small mini-wave to transition into the next ball section. This next section is a semi-difficult asymmetrical dual segment with intense transitions and strange gameplay. Right before the drop, the player is bounced between a series of blue pads in sync with the buildup of the song.
- 20-28% (KeiAs): The song hits the drop as the player goes through a multitude of different gameplay transitions, including a double-speed ship section with green orbs, an easy UFO part, and a slightly difficult wave section with a few hard timings. There is a short robot segment where the player must click fast to hit the pillars in time, then go into a longer ship section with many more timings along with insane gravity- and size changes. There is yet another short wave section with some gravity changes and then a short easy ship section followed by an easy cube- and wave segment. The player goes through a few more ship- and cube sequences, including an easy ball segment to transition to the next part.
- 28-36% (Dotory): This second drop part speeds up to triple-speed and features hard timings in the cube, ship, and mini-wave sequences. The player then enters a gravity-switched UFO segment with hard gravity changes and near frame-perfect timings. After this, there is a short ship section with a few straight-fly segments and a gravity change. There is a short half-speed mini-cube section that syncs very well with the song and the short respite from the drop. Intense gameplay resumes after the respite with short robot- and cube sections that have fast pace and trick orbs and spikes. To finish off the part, there is a tricky ship section that slows down and leads to an easy ball section that goes between two platforms with spikes.
- 36-42% (LatiMv2): This section is entirely memory-based and is reminiscent of the memory UFO part in Betrayal of Fate. The player starts as a ship and must memorize the ways they must go up and down. There are invisible teleportation portals and invisible spikes to deceive the player. While the player is concentrating on which way to go, the gameplay changes from ship to wave and then to UFO, in seemingly random order. After this, the player becomes a cube for the entire rest of the part, during which there is a memory section again, where the player must memorize when they need to jump and when they need to fall.
- 43-47% (Magical47): The player is launched unexpectedly into a difficult dual section. This dual consists of hard timings in a cube, which transitions directly into a short ship segment with tight passageways. Next is a tiny spider segment with one double click that is very fast to avoid two spikes close together on the top and bottom platforms. A green orb must be hit, transitioning into a small but easy UFO segment and an extremely easy cube section with little hard timings. After that, there is a hard mini-wave section with very tight spaces in addition to gravity changes between spaces. The part ends with a dash orb, where the player collects the second secret coin.
- 48-52% (Dister K): This part begins with a fairly easy cube section with little timings, but some of the orbs can be tricky, and the player must time their jumps correctly to hit the orbs in time. The orbs are placed usually close to platforms, some of which are angled and have spikes. There are also blue pads inside two blocks that require the player to time jumps late. These add to a tricky section containing slightly hard timings but some memorization. There is a small free transition point as the song winds down.
- 52-57% (Ranar): The song comes to a breakpoint where it is softer, and the gameplay is as such. Ranar's first section is themed black and gray and features a text that says, "Take a break." This part consists of black spikes that blend in and some orbs that must be clicked very fast as they are close together, in addition to some moving platforms. The next section after this is entirely a half-speed ship segment. The spaces are extremely tight, and the player must straight-fly between gears very close together. In addition, the floor and ceiling are lower toward the player, posing an additional obstacle in this part.
- 57-61% (Swjo): The half-speed ship section continues, but there are more orbs to hit as well as platforms with spikes that the player must enter and avoid. This poses an extra level of difficulty with straight-flying and precise timings. The ship transitions into a wave with a tight choke point at the beginning, with the rest of the wave being heavily timing-based, requiring the player to avoid spikes and platforms very close to them. The wave ends with a very tight "up and down" section with extremely precise timings. After the wave, there is a robot with trick orbs and some mazes they must be navigated through in addition to teleportation portals.
- 61-63% (Kurai Yonaka): Robot gameplay continues with some tricky timings. Some orbs the player must hit late, and a few spikes they must avoid. Some of these spikes are bigger than others, but since this section is short, it is not that difficult. Moving spikes pose an additional obstacle to the player.
- 63-68% (CrePusCule): The robot transitions into half-speed ship gameplay with tight timings and some orbs the player must hit. Spaces are somewhat tight in this section, making the gameplay semi-difficult. Next is a small ball section with some tight spaces and specific timings. The ball transitions into a semi-difficult single-speed dual section, where the player must hit the orbs correctly while switching their size. This transitions into a ball segment where the player must switch between platforms and hit orbs with precise timing to make it to the next platform. There is a dash orb that leads into the next part.
- 68-76% (Creatordemon): The ball gameplay speeds up to double-speed and increases in difficulty with many trick orbs and pads, in addition to tight spacing. This transitions to a ship with extremely tight spaces and some straight-flying between gears with a gravity change. A long gravity stream leads to a transition point where the player can jump up immediately after the gravity stream to collect the third secret coin. There are two triple spikes before the player is thrown into another section of triple-speed gameplay. A cube is the first part of this triple-speed gameplay, with a point of trick orbs leading directly into a mini-wave. This has tight timings, but some gravity changes make the passing easier. Following this is a short mini-cube section leading directly into a UFO segment with gravity changes and near frame-perfect timings. Next is a small cube section with easy timings leading into a straight-fly ship sequence with many gravity changes before finishing with another short cube section.
- 76-85% (Soulsand): Cube gameplay continues, with the player transitioning to mini and avoiding trick pathways. There is a short straight-fly ship segment before the player turns into a mini-cube again and continues the path with angled platforms and semi-difficult timings. There are many hidden teleportation portals scattered around the gameplay, confusing the player. After this, there is a short easy wave section that transitions into a small half-speed cube section that is fairly easy. The triple-speed cube gameplay returns with more of the same types of orbs and platforms, which leads into a short ship segment with tight passages and an orb. Following this, short wave, UFO, and ball segments occur, with very difficult timings, and to end the part there is a semi-difficult mini-wave section with semi-tight passages.
- 85-87% (Zernis): The part begins with a free section with the name of the creator, Zernis. A transition portal takes the player to a new level where they must memorize the pattern to fall into another teleportation portal as a cube. This repeats as robot gameplay but is much shorter than the first path.
- 87-89% (Mulpan): After the player falls into the second teleportation portal, they are thrown into a triple-speed ship sequence. The player must navigate through tight spikes and through a teleportation portal to hit an orb and go into a gravity portal. This leads into a UFO segment with tight timings and finishes with a small wave. This wave has tight timings but is very short, so the difficulty level is not high.
- 89-94% (Pyei): Spider gameplay starts as the player must navigate between two platforms and a few orbs before turning into a dual spider. This dual is extremely difficult because it is asymmetrical, and the player must control one spider at a time before transitioning onto the same platform and navigating orbs for both. If the player completes this dual, they are thrown into a ship sequence with tight timings and precise orb clicks. After transitioning through a gravity portal, they become a ball, which is very easy and has only a few platforms to switch between.
- 94-100% (DEMN): A player must navigate through a short straight-fly segment before going into a double-speed mini-wave segment with extremely tight spacing. The player is then thrown into a triple-speed cube, UFO, and ball segment, which is not very hard before having to time their clicks to two blue orbs to get into a UFO segment. This UFO has two precise clicks and leads into a small straight-fly ship segment, which has a gravity switch. The ship becomes dual, and the player must hit two yellow orbs before transitioning into a single-speed cube. This cube becomes half-speed, and the player must time four blue orbs to the music to enter the final dual. This dual is completely free, as its sole purpose is to display the names of the creators. The cubes hit one final pad, and the player must click fast to hit the dash orb. At the end of the spikes, the dash orb releases, and the player must jump over two invisible mini-spikes as the final obstacle of the level.
User coins[]
- The first user coin is located at 6% and is given to the player for free as they enter the ship portal.
- The second user coin is located at 47% and is given to the player for free as they hold along the dash orb.
- The third and final user coin is located at 71%. The player must jump up immediately after leaving the gravity stream before the two triple spikes.
Trivia[]
- The password for the level is 697423.
- The level contains 118,744 objects.
- The level is 3m 27s in length.
- The level was initially placed at #47 on the Geometry Dash Demonlist on November 26, 2017, above Elite Z Rebirth (#48) and below SUBVERSIVE (#46).
- This addition, along with Incipient, Final Epilogue, After Catabath, and Hydraulic Overdrive, to the Demonlist knocked Deception Dive and Cataclysm into the Extended List and Ultraviolet, Wolfstep, Light Years, Geminorum, and X Adventure into the Legacy List at the same time.
- Fabrication (old) is currently on the Legacy List of the Low Refresh Rate Mobile Demonlist.
- The level was originally an Insane Demon for approximately one year before being buffed to Extreme Demon difficulty and re-verified.
- Many players criticize the level due to its imbalanced gameplay and many choke points. This criticism is likely because when the creators were buffing the level, they did not change much gameplay-wise and simply tightened spaces and added spikes. Most players agreed that the first half of the level and the ship sections are the hardest. One choke point heavily criticized by many players was a tiny wave gap at 16% during T3chnolitz's part. Deados35 claimed there is one singular hard section past 52% in the level.
- Motu's part is also criticized for having too much glow and slowing down the frame rate of the player during the part. As a result, many players had to beat the level on a Low Detail Mode copy rather than the original.
- The first section, KrampuX's part, is widely disliked because the tight mini-wave and robot timings eat up many attempts when playing from 0%.
- The Lightning Team, who created Fabrication, is made up of entirely South Korean creators, similar to Visible Ray. This level was their third mega-collaboration.
- Both RG and SpirteX fluked this level from 64%.
- This was the last level nSwish had to beat before he completed the entire Main List at the time. He famously crashed at the final two invisible mini-spikes while trying to complete it, giving him a 99% death. He finally beat it on September 9, 2020, making history as the first player to complete the Top 75 on the Demonlist. He later lost this title after Cold Sweat got placed on the Main List of the Demonlist.
- Two of the three user coins in this level are all given to the player for free; the third coin is very simple to get.
- The placement of Mayhem on September 16, 2022, knocked Fabrication into the Legacy List of the Demonlist.[1]
