Inspired by Nine Circles and Fairydust. A fun DEMON stage! Pass on my channel!

―Dhafin

Problematic is a 1.9/2.0 solo Easy Demon created by Dhafin. It is an easy Nine Circles level and one of the most popular Demon levels, currently being the 16th most-liked. The gameplay makes heavy use of size-, speed-, and gravity changes.

Gameplay[]

  • 0-12%: The level starts with a mildly difficult cube section which consists of many spikes that can easily be jumped over.
  • 12-24%: Next, the player enters a ship sequence that is easier than the previous cube section since it does not feature nearly as many threats. However, it is set in half-speed, slower than the cube, so the player must therefore be a bit careful. The next cube area is far easier than the first one because the last few seconds are auto.
  • 24-85%: Afterward, the Nine Circles wave segment is introduced, and the beat drops. The player must now avoid the walls and the numerous saw-blades. However, this level has a much easier wave segment than most other Nine Circles levels, as the spacing is much larger, and there are many segments where the wave is not triple-speed. The penultimate sequence is a ship sequence, which lasts for roughly three seconds with the word "NICE!" flashing in the background.
  • 85-100%: Then, the player enters one final cube section, which can easily be completed without any distractions since there are not many obstacles. Finally, the level ends with Dhafin's name.

User coins[]

The level has three user coins.

  • The first coin is located in the first cube section at 11% and can be obtained by hitting a yellow jump orb with an X decoration to the left of it at about 8%. Doing so will allow the player to grab the key, which brings down the first coin and removes the spike previously over it.
  • The second coin is obtained very early in the wave segment. The player has to fit in between a saw-blade at double-speed to successfully collect the coin.
  • The last coin is at the end of Dhafin's name, where instead of falling onto the jump pad, jumping over the jump pad will make the third coin appear so it can be collected.

Bugs[]

  • It is possible to skip several portals during the wave, including the second ship sequence.
  • In the wave sequence, it is possible to miss the double speed change with the upside-down gravity portal. This makes the player stay at triple speed, but still making it possible to beat the level.

Fails[]

  • M31 crashed at 97%, at the last spike, trying to get the last coin. He later beat the level without the coin.
  • GuitarHeroStyles crashed at 96% because of a bug.
  • EricVanWilderman crashed at 85% at the beginning of the final cube sequence, attempting to make a jump that he thought was possible.
  • Complazra crashed at 97% for the same reason as M31. He has now completed the level with all three coins.

Trivia[]

  • The password for the level is 006701.
  • The level contains 8,462 objects.
  • The level is 54 seconds in length, but it shows as Long and as 1 minute in the editor due to an unchecked triple-speed portal and an extra half-speed portal put out of bounds.
  • This is considered one of the easiest Nine Circles Demons.
  • The level's color scheme is possibly based on Dhafin's choice of icon color, green.
  • This is currently the most liked Nine Circles remake.
  • The only fake blocks in the level used as actual obstacles are in the middle of the wave segment.
  • There is a harder Nine Circles level named Catastrophic that seems to be inspired by Problematic.
  • Several people have said that the first cube section is harder and more annoying than the wave segment.
  • This level had bronze user coins for a long time before RobTop verified them.
  • In mid-July 2019, this level got hacked, making it a free Demon. A secret way could be accessed by skipping the first blue orb.[1]
    • To add, the same day, Problematic became an Extreme Demon for a short time, until becoming Easy Demon again.
