Gargantua is a 2.1 Insane 8* collaboration level created by Lapis337 and Lime0037. The level borrows from the 2014 film Interstellar. Despite its in-game rating, many believe it to be worthy of 9* due to its unexpected transitions, usage of 4x speed, and the overall difficulty.
The level begins with a basic 1x speed cube with a few moderately difficult timings. There is a coin easily accessible through tapping a red orb (ironically this is a route that is instinctively taken and arguably easier than the normal route). The cube slows before transitioning into a simple normal-speed ball segment, followed by a spider. There is then a ship with a gravity change and slow-moving objects. A mini UFO follows with a similar style. The level fades out then into a 2x speed cube, with the art of the planet Saturn and lines from the poem "Do not go gentle into that good night". There is a quick transition to ship, then back into a cube, before a 3x speed spider which transitions into the level's title card at 4x speed. Art of a supermassive black hole appears in the background. The 4x speed is maintained as gameplay rapidly cuts to cube, mini wave, cube, ball, wave, UFO, ship, spider, UFO again, a ball again, then a longer cube segment. These short segments require a few jumps. There is a ship which cuts to mini ship then to normal-sized wave, before changing to a cube in a transition to a dual cube. During the dual, the texts "INTONSAQUE CAELO", "CONTACTUS", and "EVOLUTO" appear in the background. The dual section begins symmetrical, before changing into a mini ball and then an asymmetrical dual cube/robot where both icons jump in tandem on platforms at the bottom half of the screen. There is then a symmetrical dual wave and ship, during which the duals merge into one, and then back into two for a symmetrical robot dual. The level ends with a number of dedications and credits.
- Gargantua is based on the 2014 epic science-fiction film Interstellar.
- The level is named after the supermassive black hole that appears in the film. A visual replication of the black hole appears as background art.
- "Do not go gentle into that good night" is a poem repeatedly used during the course of the film by various characters.
- The planet Saturn is the only Solar System planet other than Earth to appear in the film.
