The Impossible Quiz, in GD! Think you have what it takes to solve 30 ridiculous questions? (LDM = ipad mode, for small screens)

―Colon

Impossible Quiz GD is a 2.1 Harder 7* level created by Colon. As its name suggests, it is inspired by The Impossible Quiz series. It contains thirty questions, most of which require you to think outside the box. You have about four minutes to complete the entire quiz, or you have to start over.

Core Mechanics[]

The mechanics of this level are rather simple. You use the Mouse or Right side of the screen to select any answer, while you use the Spacebar or Left side to choose that one. You have three lives. If you get a question wrong, you lose one life. Get it to zero, and you will die, with a randomized Death message depending on your X-position and how many times you have clicked. This level also has a practice-mode indicator, so when you play on Practice Mode, you will just keep dying over and over when you die once. Colon made a video explaining this method, which you can check out here. There are also several minigame questions, many of which have unique controls and mechanics.

Coins & Ranks[]

To get the Coins, you must try to complete the Quiz well, and without losing too many lives.

  • Rank C (No Coins) - When you lose 2 lives, you’ll get this rank.
  • Rank B (1 Coin) - When you lose 1 live, you’ll get this rank.
  • Rank A (2 Coins) - When you lose no lives, you’ll get this rank.
  • Rank S (3 Coins) - When you lose no lives, AND when you beat the quiz in under 1.5 minutes (around 37%), you’ll get this rank.

Questions and Answers[]

WARNING: Spoilers for the level. Colon stated that the level is best experienced blind.

1. "How do you play Geometry Dash?”

Most of the answers here are correct, but the answer is Jump, because in order to play Geometry Dash, you have to know how to jump.

2. “How many Demons are in GD?”

The answer here is “< 10”, because this question talks about the difficulty faces, instead of the actual amount of demons levels in the game.

3. “How do you survive Map Packs?”

The answer here is “You don’t”. This is a reference to one of Juniper’s streams.

4. “How many cubes are in the Icon Kit?”

Key word, “cubes”. Geometry dash isn’t a 3D game, so it doesn’t have any cubes, so the correct answer would be “It’s a 2D Game”.

5. “What is this?”

The question shows a bathtub covered in blood. The answer is Bloodbath, obviously referencing the level Bloodbath. The art was made by Kittenfrost.

6. “How many different orbs are in Deadlocked?”

This question talks about the Jump-orbs in Deadlocked. There are Yellow ones, Green ones, and Blue ones (believe it or not, Deadlocked doesn’t have any Purple orbs). So the right answer would be 3.

7. “Retray!”

All of the answers are level IDs. The correct answer is 6508283, because that’s the ID for Retray.

8. “Who is RobTop?”

The answer here is “The Guy sleeping over there”; Colon wanted to make a “GD is dead” joke on this one.

9. [Minigame]

Click the screen to make the Cube move. Keep spamming until the Cube hits the triple spike.

10. “What is the correct spelling?”

The answer here is “Ultiate Destruction” because, in the beta version of GD, you can see that RobTop misspelled “Ultimate Destruction”.}}

11. “How many mini portals are in Fingerdash?” [TIMED 10 sec]

This one’s tricky. The answer is 1, because the question doesn’t talk about mini portals. Instead, it talks about a portal that’s smaller than the rest. You can find this portal at 26%.

12. “Which level is highest on the Demon list?”

The answer here is The Nightmare. This is because the question doesn’t talk about the actual DemonList website. When you search up Demons in the default GD Browser, you’ll see that The Nightmare is the top one.

13. “How do you use a Dash Orb?”

Believe it or not, all of these answers are wrong. What you have to do is, go to any answer, and hold Spacebar or the Left side, as if you were using a Dash Orb.

14. “How many levels are in Subzero?”

Another trick question. This question talks about the level seen in Press Start (after the 1st bossfight chase), which is 2. So the answer would be 2.

15. “Pick the LARGEST!” [Minigame]

Use the Mouse/Right to rotate the arrow, and use the Spacebar/Left to choose. Most of the objects seen here are either smaller or bigger than their default size. The answer would be the Sawblade because, when everything is at it’s default size, it would be the largest.

16. “Who created the music for Boomlings?” [TIMED 10 sec]

Boomkitty made the music for Boomlings, but the composers have their names changed. The answer would be Boomcat.

17. “Wanna Sprite Crannberry?”

“The answer is clear” < - - “It’s the most thirstiest time of the year”

18. “???”

This one looks like a mess. But believe it or not, it’s on the Oxygen1 font, but lowercase. Figure out what letter is what, and the question will say “What is Ligma?”. Pick the answer on the top-left, which translates to “Lick my balls”.

19. “Which level is in the [...] pack?” [RANDOMIZED, TIMED 10 sec]

This one’s a bit tricky. It has 4 possibilities. Remember these though: Hopper is from the Dash pack, Checkmate is from the Paradox Pack, Flappy Hexagon is from the Sapphire Pack, and Stage of Madness is from the Morph Pack.

20. “Don’t Touch the Spikes!” [Minigame] You control a circle, and move it left and right with the Mouse/Right and Spacebar/Left. If you touch the spikes, you have to do the course again, and you lose a life. You’ll see a yellow arrow beyond the spikes. Once you reach it, stop there to avoid a surprise spike.}}

21. “What should you use to beat a demon?”

This one is basic logic. It talks about what you would use for an actual demon, not a demon level. The right answer would be A Crowbar.

22. “How many mini coins are in Fingerdash?” [TIMED 10 sec]

You may think the answer is 10, but no. The answer is actually 11, since there is another coin next to the Coin counter in Fingerdash, which you can’t obtain.

23. “Why does GD always fall over?”

Most of these may seem obvious at this point, but the answer is “It only has two toes”, a pun about Theory of Everything 1 & 2.

24. “Charge ur Lazer!” [Minigame, TIMED 10 sec]

Simply spam & click 80 times in under 10 seconds to make the monster shoot a laser.

25. “How many orbs does Polargeist have?”

This question talks about the Mana orbs, not the jump-orbs, which is 100.

26. “You’re gonna want a second to think before answering!” [TIMED 10 sec]

All of the answers are wrong at first, but you need to wait until the bomb reaches 1 second, then pick any answer.

27. “Rock Paper Scissors!” [RANDOMIZED, TIMED 2 sec]

You simply have to play Rock Paper Scissors with the question. The answer “Nothing!” will never be right though. Make sure you have good reaction time.

28. “What’s the first level of GD?”

No trick question here, the answer is Stereo Madness. This is so that the Quiz thinks it still has you by its grasp.

29. “How many questions does this Quiz have?”

While it has 30, the correct answer is “Half of these aren’t questions”, which is also true.

30. “Final” [RANDOMIZED, TIMED 20 sec]

To do this one, you have to use the SpaceBar/Left and Mouse/Right to change the number. All of the questions are genuine and aren’t any trick questions. If you want, you can pause the level and look at the GD Wiki to figure out some of them. The questions include:

  • How many form changes are in xStep?
  • What level number has the first -1 speed portal?
  • How many different backgrounds are used in the first 20 levels?
  • Which GD World level number introduces the mirror portal?
  • How many Demons must you beat to unlock a ball?
  • How many saved levels appear on one page by default?
  • How many Demon Packs are there?
  • How many stars does The Challenge reward?
  • How many level fonts are there?
  • What level number is Electrodynamix?

Trivia[]

  • The level is free to copy.
  • The level contains 4,045 objects.
  • It is completely impossible to complete the level in Practice Mode.
  • In question #15, if you were to point the arrow towards the text saying “the largest”, and select it, text will appear saying “Nice Try!”. This is to acknowledge people that think the answer is to choose the phrase “the largest”.
  • Question #24 is a replica of the infamous minigame in the original Impossible Quiz, which has been known to end many runs.
  • The level was rated on September 4, 2020.
