Khorne is a formerly-rated 2.1 solo Extreme Demon created by Hota1991 and verified and published by Stilluetto on December 8, 2019. It is an extremely object-heavy hell-themed level, mainly known for formerly containing more than one million objects before being optimized.
It was briefly rated on December 8, 2022, before being unrated around two minutes later due to RobTop crashing three times playing the level. This makes it one of the levels to get unrated the fastest, beating Supernova Circles, which took around 10 minutes.
History[]
Khorne was created by Hota1991 as a solo project. It was made to be an over-decorated hell-themed level that follows a story in hell, separated into nine chapters and a prologue. The level is inspired by Zimnyte and APTeam's decorative style and was made with lots of copy-pasted objects. Hota1991 has shown several previews of the level's building progress on his channel.
In November 2017, after eight months of building, Hota1991 leaked on his account that the majority of the level had been split into seven levels named respectively from "Khorne" to "Khorne VII", giving an idea of the total number of objects in the level amounting to well over one million.
On March 30, 2018, Zimnyte published the full level on his YouTube channel, which was initially planned to be verified by Crazen, who eventually gave up. Thanks to Zimnyte's preview, the level received a lot of popularity at the time, being considered "the most over-decorated level in the game", but in the absence of verification, the level was quickly forgotten.
However, in 2019, a group of people decided to take over the level. TiO2 assembled the entire level and revealed its total object count (1,002,193), Imaze made LDMs and optimized the level, removing nearly 400,000 objects from it. Finally, on December 8, 2019, the American player Stilluetto verified it after more than 5,000 attempts and published it on his account. He also published a No Detail version.
Gameplay[]
It has been requested that this section be rewritten. Reason: Level will crash the game, resulting impossible to recognize
- Prologue - Call of the Abyss (0-7%): This part consists of a cube with timings and a short ship section. At the beginning of the level, the player can take two LDMs: one removes the background and the other for the art.
- Part 1 - Hell Gate (8-16%): This part starts with a pretty tight ship. Afterward is a ball part with tight spaces. Then, there is a faster wave part based on D-blocks that the player can slide on, cut by a short cube part and another cube part.
- Part 2 - Inferno Escape (17-22%): This part mainly requires orb spamming-based skills, cut by a short fast-paced ship, UFO, and wave parts.
- Part 3 - Back to Nightmare (23-27%): The beginning of this part features cube timings. After that, there is a ship that works like a free flight. Then, there is a timing-based cube section, a robot part, and a ship part through a rotating structure, followed by four easy cube timings.
- Part 4 - Lava Cave (28-38%): This part starts with alternating tight ship and timing cube parts at high speeds. Then, a spider swing-copter part leads to a ball phase where the player must choose the correct teleportation portals. This part ends with a wave that simulates free flight.
- Part 5 - The Rise of Belial (39-46%): The pace slows down in this part. It begins with a UFO, a short wave, and a ship. Afterward is a cube with many orbs the player must avoid.
- Part 6 - Reign of Abaddon (47-57%): This part focuses on fast-paced spam, mainly UFO and ship-based on a small cube part. After that, there is a cube and robot timing part.
- Part 7 - Athanatos' Mansion (58-69%): The level slows down once more with robot timing-based gameplay and a short ship straight-fly. Later, the song speeds up a bit with a straight and orb-based ship and a ball part. Then, the level speeds up again with a tight cube and ship parts.
- Part 8 - The Blind Abyss (70-83%): The level speeds up again with a cube, a short ship part, and a mini-wave. Then, the part slows down with a short cube and straight-fly parts. The part speeds up again with a semi-free flight ship and cube parts before ending with a tight and slow mini-ship part. Then some slow cube-, robot-, and UFO parts before a final mini-wave.
- Part 9 - The End has Come (84-100%): The level speeds up again with cube timings, tight ship, and swing-copter. Then a part similar to Xaro's Bloodlust part starts in a tunnel with UFO, ship, and ball parts. The level ends with a cube part and a short straight-fly. A text saying "That's impossible..." appears before the credits appear on the screen.
