OuterSpace is a 2.0 solo Hard 5* level created, verified and published by Nicki1202. It is the first level in the Fire Gauntlet, before Overture, and the first Hard-rated level in the Gauntlets overall.
Description[]
OuterSpace, (While not being fire-themed) is a simple level containing a boss-fight near the end.
- A normal-speed cube section. The words 'Fire Gauntlet' and a picture of the Fire Gauntlet symbol can be seen. At 2%, the player passes a face resembling a cube icon in-game. This takes place from 0% to 10%.
- A double-speed ship sequence that contains frequent speed changes and several easy-to-avoid obstacles. At ~14%, text saying 'VIPRIN IS TRIGGERED' can be seen near the top of the level, with the first user coin directly above it. This spans from 10% to 21%.
- A double-speed ball segment that features simple timings and a bunch of seemingly random auto sections, after which the player passes a smiley face at 24%, similar to the one at 2%. Then, at 29%, the same face can be seen, but sad. This spans from 21% to 34%.
- A normal-speed UFO segment, and then at 36%, the player is flipped upside-down and sent to double-speed before entering a blue gravity portal and normal-speed at 39%. The player then enters a mini-portal at 43% and soon reaches a cube portal. The same face as the one at the beginning is located at 38%, along with a cat-like face at 43%. This section features wide-open spaces and harmless slopes the player can slide on. This spans from 34% to 45%.
- A second cube section with a normal-size portal having another smiley face like the one at 24%. The part contains simple orb timings and the second user coin. The player soon enters a double-speed portal with a sad face above it, the same as the one at 29%. Soon, the player goes into a series of consecutive gravity pads for the build-up. The player then flies into the air, seeing the words 'OUTER SPACE' as they fall into a ship portal at triple speed. This spans from 45% to 68%.
- A triple-speed ship sequence with a boss-fight, the boss being a giant laser-shooting gun on the right of the screen. An exclamation mark appears right before it attacks, either by shooting its massive laser or thrusting its spiky arms at the player. Additionally, the top and bottom of the screen are covered with spikes, with the sole exception of the location of the third user coin. At ~80%, it retreats, and the player must avoid large saw-blades and obstacles to continue. Finally, the player reaches a normal-speed portal at the end, and upon completing the level, the big laser comes out of the wall. This spans from 68% to 100%.
User coins[]
- The first user coin is located at 14% in the first ship sequence. To collect it, the player must fly up, but just high enough so that they do not crash into the spikes on the ceiling.
- The second user coin is located at 57% in the cube section. To collect it, the player must jump and avoid hitting the green orb. Instead, they must fall onto the floor between two spikes. The player should then hit the blue gravity pad right next to the coin to return to the normal route.
- The third user coin is located at 74% in the ship sequence's boss-fight. To collect it, the player must either fly under a laser that the boss shoots close to the ground or drop to the floor.

- It is the first level in the Fire Gauntlet.
- It used to be the third level in the Fire Gauntlet but was shifted to first after the other gauntlets were introduced.
- It received a minor update in 2.11, adding small details.
- This is the most liked gauntlet level, due to being the very first one.
- This level, along with Carnation, Shrimp, Traction, Mechanical Showdown, Magic Valley, Motion, Caput Mundi, and Alien Dream Emulator are the only gauntlet levels to have their songs be available from both Newgrounds and the Music Library.
