PURPLE SPLASH (formerly known as CASTRIX) is a 2.1 Medium Demon mega-collaboration hosted and published by CastriX and verified by LazyGMD. The level is themed around the color purple, as that is CastriX' main color. The level is built in multiple styles: design, effect, modern, and art. It was originally released on December 19, 2019, but was deleted and reuploaded on December 20 with a name change and some fixes.[1]

The community has generally mixed opinions of the gameplay of this level, with many calling it inconsistent and buggy. However, the decoration is generally liked by the community.

Gameplay[]

PURPLE SPLASH's gameplay has fast and slow parts and tries to sync with the music most of the time. The level often changes speed abruptly and mainly uses the cube game mode.

  • 0-6% (Rekiii): Rekiii's part starts with a cube where the player must jump on platforms that move into place from the top and bottom. The background is split in this section: the first and fourth quarters have a purple background; the second and third quarters have a lilac-colored background. After the cube, the player becomes a wave in a section depicting purple clouds. Here, the player must dodge some skewer-shaped moving objects. This gameplay of the wave and the obstacles sort of resemble the wave gameplay of a Nine Circles levels.
  • 7-15% (enixy): After a brief cube transition, enixy's part begins. enixy's part is split up into two halves, with the first half containing cloud-like platforms. The first half uses the cube, robot, and ship game modes. The cube and robot parts require simple timings and the ship part contains semi-straight flying through gravity portals. The second half takes a much more minimalistic approach, as the decoration is very plain and uses custom portals. This half contains only spider and cube, and the part ends with a dash orb.
  • 16-20% (Filaret + kentik): Filaret and kentik's is a single speed cube part where the players must hit orbs to the beat of the song. The gameplay was made by kentik while the decoration was made by Filaret. kentik's gameplay contains many black and green orbs and requires some quick timings. Filaret's decoration is very glowy and many objects are transparent.
  • 21-26% (CastriX): Like the previous part, CastriX' part starts with a cube where the player must hit orbs to the beat to avoid crashing. The cube part contains many black orbs as well as some blue and green orbs. Around 24% the cube speeds up to double speed and becomes a triple speed ship part soon afterwards. In the ship part, the player must fly straight and then gradually fly upwards when the ship goes into four times speed.
  • 27-32% (Djman13): Djman13's part starts with a continuation of the previous ship. The part starts with a slow mini ship that changes sizes and speeds throughout the ship segment. The gameplay consists of tapping orbs and going through portals to avoid spinning circular obstacles. After the ship segment is a double speed spider with many required inputs. The final segment is a mini cube where the player must spam to get through some invisible platforms. After a short auto mini cube segment, the drop begins.
  • 33-40% (CultriX): CultriX' part is in triple speed and contains cube, ball, UFO, and ship segments. The cube and ball segments require orb timings and the UFO segment is short with only two gravity portals. The only ship segment appears at the end of the part and is full of size and gravity portals. The background for this part displays what looks like a purple-colored butterfly.
  • 41-48% (WerewolfGD): WerewolfGD's part begins with a triple speed cube that becomes a ship after only a few timings. Afterwards, the player becomes a mini cube with some more timings. As the player enters the spider part, the background transitions from an animated purple design to art of one of WerewolfGD's original characters. The spider segment consists of some timings with some black orbs and dash orbs. The last segment is a single speed wave section where the player must spam through a moving spike corridor.
  • 49-57% (Zoroa): Zoroa's part is the fastest part of the level, being completely in four times speed. The part starts with a continuation of the wave from the previously part where the player must make three fast timings, all being the same wave gameplay. After a short cube segment is a semi-curved ship where the player starts out in normal gravity and switches to upside-down gravity. Following is a spider segment where the player must make four super fast timings to avoid hitting the walls of the segment's platforms. Next are some simple timings with the ball, cube, and UFO game modes in that order. The player switches back to cube and the part ends with a dash orb.
  • 58-63% (Chayper): Hayper's part starts with some simple cube timings with blue orbs and dash orbs. There is a ball portal, however, this portal only alters the gameplay and not the form, as the player stays a cube. The cube's gameplay mimics the ball form and will switch gravity with every input until the player enters the next cube form portal. After some more timings just like before, the player must hit a trigger orb that turns them into a ship. The player must follow the arrows in the part to avoid a long set of spikes spinning clockwise. Near the end of the ship, the player must release their inputs, as the gap between the spikes becomes too small for the ship's normal length.
  • 64-68% (logiking): logiking's part is single speed and begins with a cube with sloped platforms. The player must hit the orbs in the cube part earlier or later than usual. After the cube, the player becomes a UFO for a short time. The player must tap/click according to the arrows to go through a gravity portal and avoid the spikes. The player must then make a black orb timing before a short cube section follows. The background of the previous cube and UFO display a solar system with orbiting planets. The end of the part is an extremely short wave where the level's background transitions to the next part as well as showing the current part's creator, "logiking", become "wiktord", the next part's creator.
  • 69-74% (wiktord): wiktord's part is double speed and contains both cube and ball segments. The timings for the cube and ball are tight and contain many inputs on the very edge of platforms, as the spike placements make the part less lenient. The background is a BGA (back-ground animation).
  • 75-79% (Knots): Knots' part is a single speed wave where the player must make their way around spikes on the top and bottom of blocky structures. The background shows a house on top of floating ground under a waterfall.
  • 80-85% (SpaceDust): SpaceDust's part starts with a single speed UFO that contains many pads and dash orbs. The objects in the UFO segment are not direct representations of their hitboxes; therefore, the part often is inconsistent. This is best displayed in the mini UFO segment, where there are invisible hitboxes. Following the UFO is a (triple speed?) mini cube before a normal sized spider part. SpaceDust's part ends a cube segment with five orbs that lead into a blue pad chamber transition. The decoration and background display many purple-colored trees and flowers during the part.
  • 86-92% (MakFeed): MakFeed's part starts off at four times speed but changes speeds several times through the part. The part starts off with a cube with some orb timings. Then there is a UFO with gravity portals before an extremely small cube segment with only two blue orbs. Afterwards is a mini ship with gravity portal with gravity portals like the UFO segment. The final part is a semi-auto cube segment with many blue pads and a dash orb at the end. The background for this part displays a cloudy purple planet.
  • 93-99% (DarkoGD (Exxy)): The final part of the level belongs to DarkoGD, previously known as Exxy. DarkoGD's part uses all game modes and changes speed constantly. This part must be practiced as it opens with a very quick input on a slope and is full of fast mode transitions, requiring the player to remember what modes are next. The key to mastering this part is to know what segments require timings and what segments can just be spammed through, as a lot of the segments have only orbs. With the exception of a few segments, the robot and UFO require timing and all the other modes except for ship can be spammed through. The final gameplay of the part is a three times speed ship where the player only needs to hit the slope next to a mini portal. After a very short auto cube segment, the end screen appears.
  • 100% (Firs, End Screen): The end screen, created by Firs (FirsGD in game), displays a neon city with glowing screens and flying vehicles. A figure of what looks like a robot and a motorcycle are in front, looking at the city. The level's name appears in the middle.
