RicoLP is a skilled Austrian player and level creator in Geometry Dash, who is infamous for verifying Blade of Justice while also heavily nerfing it.[1] He was also the original host for the level Zodiac and currently has the long-term goal of beating every Extreme Demon in the game. He recently returned to the game using 360FPS and beat Zodiac as his new hardest Demon on 10 June 2021.[2] His hardest Demon before this was Crimson Planet, beaten on 21 April 2021.[3] He used framerates of 360FPS for Crimson Planet and 288FPS for The Rupture.

His current hardest Demon is Firework, beaten on 2 April 2022.[4] He had to rebeat the level because his Shadowplay recording corrupted the first time.

History[]

It is unknown when RicoLP began playing because his old channel was deleted, but he beat numerous Insane- to Extreme Demons during 2016 and 2017. After verifying Blade of Justice in July 2017, his next notable act was to begin a project named Zodiac, which was set to be the new hardest Demon. The first preview was released shortly after the verification of Blade of Justice. However, during a year-long break from the game, the ownership of Zodiac was passed to Bianox, who finished the level. RicoLP returned briefly in 2018 but found increasingly displeased with the Geometry Dash community, prompting an even longer disappearance. He eventually returned in the Spring of 2020 and began streaming Digital Descent on Twitch until his YouTube channel was copyright struck and taken down, ending his interest in Geometry Dash for a while. On 7 November 2020, he created a new YouTube channel and uploaded his completion of Digital Descent the next day. On 9 February 2021, he verified Valence by Platnuu. He has now undertaken the challenge of beating the entire Demonlist. However, on 20 July 2021, RicoLP stated that he is quitting Geometry Dash once again with a YouTube Community post reading: 'Goodbye and I wish you all good luck for whatever you want to do in the future c:' and a Discord DM with spaceuk stating why is quitting.[5]

Since this, he returned to Geometry Dash about a month later and has since beaten levels such as Timor, Dark Flare, The Reaper, Cybernetic Crescent, Kappa, Keres, Bloodlust, Cognition, Renevant, Ragnarok, RUST, Sonic Wave, Eternal Moment, Spacial Rend, Descent Into Exile, Verdant Landscape, Sink, Molten Core, Sigma, Trueffet, Molten Gear, Spectrum Cyclone, Lucid Nightmares, Calculator Core, Akashic Records and Golden Club.

Conflicts[]

  • Blade of Justice Nerfs - In July 2017, the first anniversary of the level's creation, RicoLP nerfed Blade of Justice from Top 3 down to Top 10 on the orders of Manix648 (to release it as soon as possible). The published version barely scraped the Top 25 - the level was originally meant to be #1. Subsequently, the 'anti-nerf squad' hounded him for a few weeks.[6]
  • Collaboration Hosting - While Sinister Silence was being built, many community members started to come forward with stories about Rico harassing them for 'not making good enough parts'. He is also generally considered very rude and abrasive as a collaboration host. It has also somewhat stretched into his most recent project, Flamewall, which led him to give full ownership of the level to other hosts.

Trivia[]

  • Like TrusTa with Yatagarasu, he was criticised for nerfing Blade of Justice to (what was at the time), Top 25 difficulty.
    • It has now fallen into the Legacy List of the Demonlist, which heavily contrasts with the fact that the level in its unnerfed state (if verified and rated) would have dominated the top spot on the list for years.
  • He and Luqualizer both threatened to quit the game if Buff This got rated; however, neither of them quit due to this.
  • He was the original host and creator of Zodiac, a level that was #1 on the Demonlist for an extended time. However, during the process of the mega-collaboration, Rico quit his position, so Bianox, a co-host at the time, took over and finished the level.
    • However, he eventually beat Zodiac on 10 June 2021, making the first host of any level to beat its level.
  • Sometime before 11:17 EST on 20 May 2020, his channel got terminated because his alternate channel received three copyright strikes.
  • He used to have a part in Edge of the Blade, but it was replaced with a part by Metalface221.
