Wow. This was tough to beat. First level with this song though!

Stalemate is a 1.9 solo Insane Demon created, verified, and published by Nox. It contains features that many other Demon levels did not use before. It uses the sort of "monsters" seen in other Demons, but instead of using orbs, they use "Tokyo blocks" for eyes, giving a creepy or monster-like appearance. The level, however, is difficult and used to be considered among the hardest in Geometry Dash. It also contains unique music that is unlike most other songs in the sense that it is somewhat creepy, enforced by its design.

Gameplay[]

  • 0-21%: The level starts with a difficult half-speed ship sequence with gravity- and size portals scattered along the flying segment. There are also invisible saw-blades marked by circles and monsters lined with spiked "teeth" that can cause the player to crash if not careful. Many timings are also erratic, and this segment needs decent straight-fly and transitioning skills. Along the way, the player can see the words "STALEMATE" and "NOX".
  • 21-42%: The next segment is a difficult wave segment that takes heavy advantage of fake lines, seemingly multiple routes, and tight spaces to confuse the player as much as possible. The second half removes all visible surroundings. The player can only navigate by looking at arrows and circles, doing a form of a connect-the-dots route, from which two of the "dots" have saw-blades on them, meaning this wave requires good memorization and decent wave skill.
  • 42-48%: Afterward, the player enters a single-speed dual-cube section that is probably the easiest segment of the level, consisting of two jumps and two half-speed changes. The text "JUST DIE" pops up with each jump. Before the UFO transition, the player goes at half-speed, and the large text "DIE" pops up.
  • 48-64%: Following this, the music beat drops. The player transitions into the hardest part of the level, a UFO and a ship at double-speed. First, a difficult double-speed UFO segment features a green and purple color scheme and contains numerous gravity changes, precise timings, size changes, and fading saw-blades scattered everywhere.
  • 64-80%: The next mini-ship sequence that follows up features an orange- and yellow color scheme and two segments. The first one stays in normal gravity and requires the player to fly through a couple of "monsters" with the same Tokyo eyes. The second segment, which begins at ~71%, is upside down and practically a replica of the first flying segment, except for the last bit, which comprises gravity portals and orbs that require precise timing.
  • 80-100%: After this difficult segment, the last difficult segment follows up. It is a half-speed ball segment that, much like the wave, takes advantage of lighting and the environment to fool the player as much as possible. Many obstacles appear at the last minute, and touching some of the lit-up "obstacles" will cause the player to crash. Near the end, the ball turns into a dual, transitions to a ship sequence, and the level ends.
