Stormfly is a skilled Swedish player and level creator in Geometry Dash. He is best known for creating and verifying remade versions of Sohn0924's seven Hell levels in the Hell Series, the most recent being The Hell Trinity. He is also a well-established YouTube content creator, having created many documentary-style videos and highly edited, informative and detailed videos regarding various topics within Geometry Dash, such as videos about famous creators, levels and the game's history and lore.
History[]
Stormfly began playing Geometry Dash during Update 1.7 in 2014. However, he joined YouTube on 12 November 2015 and uploaded his first video titled 'Geometry Dash - Nine Circles (Demon) - By Zobros', in which he beat Nine Circles.[1] Later, Stormfly beat numerous Demons and uploaded them on YouTube. While he beat Hard Demons, such as MadHouse, Fexty, Night Terrors and Mental Torture, his name only became known after a shout-out by Sea from verifying a slightly nerfed version of The Hell Zone by Cyclic. Stormfly also got another shout-out from the same person, this time for becoming the first person to beat all Ozpectro-themed levels at that time, including effot and Belic.
After discovering that The Hell Zone was not the only Hell level created by Sohn0924, he then decided to verify a decorated version of all of his levels (The Hell World, The Hell Dignity and The Hell Origin). In addition, with The Hell Inferno and The Hell Field leaked, Stormfly is set to finish, redecorate and verify them, and another Hell level under the name The Hell Holder.
On 11 May 2018, Stormfly verified Silentium Gradas, a heavily nerfed rebirth of Silent clubstep, in 16,213 attempts.[2]
On 5 October 2018, Stormfly released a video showcasing all the rated levels of Update 1.0.[3]
On 28 December 2018, Stormfly achieved a devastating 90% on The Hell Field, a Hell level originally started by Sohn0924 but never finished. Two days later, on 30 December, he verified The Hell Field in 11,383 attempts.[4] On 5 January 2019, Stormfly achieved a record of 25% on The Hell Inferno, another Hell level originally started by Sohn0924 but never finished.[5] After a long period of inactivity, he returned and achieved a start position run of 28-57%.[6]
On 1 September 2019, Stormfly achieved a new record of 58% on The Hell Inferno.[7]
On 8 December 2021, he verified The Hell Trinity.[8]

- The Hell Zone (featured) - The first level in the Hell series. A mega-collaboration created by 1234, Koreaqwer, Ryan LC and Cyclic. Cyclic used verify-hacks and cut the video. He claimed to have beaten it legitimately but did not record it, then later confessed to hacking it. A player named Cypher pointed out all the cuts Cyclic made. Stormfly has since verified it legitimately and published it onto his account. He also slightly nerfed Cyclic's part, but it was not rated until February 2017.

Cancelled/deleted levels[]
- Amaranthine - A very old collaboration made for Noctalium for which Stormfly had the first part. The host cancelled it because the next part was impossible to beat.
- Caelestis - An old Extreme Demon with a crystal/celestial theme made two years ago. It was cancelled because Stormfly believed the first half of the level had incredibly ugly decoration and very uninspired gameplay, so his interest in the level was easily lost.
- Metamorphosis - An Extreme Demon intended to have only abstract and unusual gameplay as its central focus. It was cancelled because Stormfly did not have enough time to finish it.
- Phantasmagoria - An Extreme Demon with an intended arcane and golden theme. It was cancelled because Stormfly did not have enough time to finish it.
- The Hell Field (old version) - Stormfly's old version of The Hell Field, which he made with an entirely different song, never became used and will stay that way. It was cancelled because the Restoration Union led Stormfly to do other things while this lie floated around in the background with this series. Therefore, The Hell Field was completely revamped to fit the 'discoveries' they came across, including song change, new gameplay and usage of creations by Sohn0924 himself.
- Unnamed - Gameplay that Stormfly made for a collaboration level (which he is not allowed to state the name of or what the level was for) that got cancelled shortly after. The reason for its cancellation is unknown, as it was never stated.
Trivia[]
- Stormfly is named after a dragon from the How to Train Your Dragon franchise, with his profile picture depicting the creature.
- The dragon is a female 'Deadly Nadder' who belongs to the character Astrid Hofferson.
- At first, Stormfly was believed to be a female, as he had purportedly stated he was. This belief was further exacerbated by his username referencing a female character.
- Later on, he made a video in which he explained this confusion.
- Stormfly's first YouTube video was the completion of Nine Circles.
- The video's description says 'easy level', which is probably a reference to Zobros' video description since Nine Circles is mainly known as a Hard Demon among numerous players.
- Stormfly has been accused of hacking the Hell levels and many of his other significant achievements by Lapis.[9]
- Stormfly is the first victor of all the old Hell levels, unnerfed Back on Mountain, unnerfed Apologeist and unnerfed Phobos.
- Stormfly became the first legitimate victor of the unnerfed version of Back on Mountain on 3 November 2020.
- It took 2,423 days for someone to beat it legitimately, putting it third on the list of levels that took the longest to complete legitimately.
- Funnily enough, the original versions of The Hell Zone and The Hell World held the top two spots.
- It took 2,423 days for someone to beat it legitimately, putting it third on the list of levels that took the longest to complete legitimately.
- Stormfly became the first legitimate victor of the unnerfed version of Back on Mountain on 3 November 2020.
- Stormfly's Insane Demon may be named after one of the Deadly Nadders in the game Dragons: Rise of Berk.
- Stormfly's hardest Demon is currently the old version of The Hell Origin.
- All Stormfly's rated levels have been at least Extreme Demons at one point (the Hell levels, Hate War, Silentium Gradas, Achondrite and Scardian).
- Achondrite was an Extreme Demon for a long time, while Scardian was an Extreme Demon due to a rating scandal around May 2018. The same scandal made Lucid Nightmares and SINGULARITY Insane Demons and LastLocked and Acropolaris Extreme Demons.
- Stormfly edited Brandon Larkin's 300th Geometry Dash episode, which is nearly three hours long, all by himself.
- Stormfly is the creator of what is commonly accepted as the hardest trilogy of levels in Geometry Dash, the Needle Trilogy, consisting of Amber, Erasus and Vulnix.
- Amber was inspired by the numerous impossible levels that just spammed straight-fly and wave spam, causing Stormfly to come up with that idea but instead have it consist entirely of timings. Those who have played the level have gone as far as to say Amber is harder than VSC.
- Erasus consists of game modes that went unused in Amber and introduced the gimmick of having rows of spikes moving down and up while the mini-wave tries to navigate through them.
- Vulnix is much more gimmicky than the previous two levels. It introduces the concept of trying to keep a dot (aligned with the player) away from spikes, which will trigger and kill the player if touched, along with down-to-up gameplay and two-player duals that are much more unusual than those seen at the time. Most consider Vulnix to be at the brink of what can be done by a human being, if not entirely impossible.
- Stormfly participated in researching and restoring the history of the most mysterious level, Element 111 Rg.
