The Eschaton is a 2.1 Hard Demon created and published by Xender Game and verified by Dorami on August 11, 2019. It is the sixth level in Xender Game's boss series, the others being Robtop Boss Mode, Robtop Boss Mode-2, BOSS 3 Electro, Boss 4 Laser Eye, and Boss V Devourers. It is described as one of the best, if not, the best level in Geometry Dash due to its five chaotic bosses and storytelling.
Gameplay[]
- 0-2%: The level starts off with some very simple cube jumps. For the first three jumps, the player is able to see the words, "The Final Chapter". At the end of the part, the player will see a transition with text that says, "The Eschaton" and Xender Game's name below it.
- 2-7%: Then, the level slightly speeds up to 1x speed, and the gameplay becomes a little more diverse. The jumps in this part are very synced to the music, while at some points there are orbs such as red orbs and dash orbs. Halfway through the part, the player gets moved on a platform. The player would be able to see some text saying "Final Grand" and "The End". Then, the gameplay continues with the synced jumps. Next, there are some mild straight flying. Finally, right before the part ends, the player is will see a text saying "Ending Chapter".
- 7-14%: The level suddenly speeds up to 2x speed with the game mode being a robot. The design of the part is the same as the part before it, as well as the gameplay. Next, the player becomes a ball, but after one flip, it becomes a mini ball with some more simple gameplay. After that, the game mode goes to a cube, and gameplay becomes a little bit more complex, as the timings here are a little bit harder. Finally, the game mode becomes a spider, and the gameplay here becomes simple again.
- 14-17%: Then the first boss starts, but many people see it as a mini-boss as it is the least intense. It starts in a ship game mode, and the player must avoid random spikes flying everywhere and the lasers that the boss is shooting. The size also constantly changes throughout this part, which makes it harder. In the end, the game mode briefly becomes a UFO, with some simple jumps.
- 17-21%: This segment is mostly in the cube game mode, with a little bit of ship mixed in. The timings are very mild.
- 21-28%: Now the gameplay is slower, as it is in 0.5x speed. The game mode starts on the ship. After a few seconds, the game mode switches to wave and the speed accelerates to 1x speed. Next is a 2x speed ball, then a 3x speed spider. Shortly after the 3x speed spider, the game mode becomes a UFO, then a ship, then a wave, and finally, a ball.
- 28-37%: Then, the first pre-drop starts. The speed slightly slows down to 2x speed, and the game mode becomes a cube. In the background of this part, the player will see a little assistant saying "When the time comes to an end when the star went out, the light is dying away, and the darkest night shall rise." The gameplay consists of complex yet simple timings. The game mode then becomes a ship, and the speed accelerates back to 3x speed. Once the player does that, the assistant says, "Let me sing you a song. A song about the very, very end, The Eschaton begins." Then the level transitions the second boss. There is text in this transition too, and they consist of "Warning! Boss ahead!", "Are you ready for the end game" and "Dual Beam".
- 37-46%: After the pre-drop comes to the first drop, as well as the second boss of the level. This boss is significantly more intense than 14-17%, as 14-17% is only in two game modes, while this one and all of the other bosses in this level have many, many more. It starts in a 3x speed ship, and the player must go up above the laser beams to survive. After that, the speed becomes 4x speed but quickly goes back to 3x speed. The player has to avoid random spikes flying at them in order to survive, though it is just mild straight flying. At 39%, the game mode switches to wave. This wave is very spammy and there are trails made by pulsing objects to guide the player of where they need to spam. At 40%, the player converts into a UFO which is also very spammy. However, this UFO is very short-lived, as the game mode very quickly turns back into a ship. Eventually, the game mode goes into a spider and the player needs to put in 10 inputs in a single second in order to survive. If the player survives this, they get launched into the air as a cube, and they need to hit a dash orb to get into the ship portal at the end of the dash orb. This ship segment consists of, once again, mild straight flying, but with a few orbs here and there. Just like the cube segment at 42%, after this part is supposed to be a dash orb timing in the cube game mode. Next is an extremely spammy dual-wave 4x speed section, and the player must try their absolute best to not get hit by a laser. Following this is a single UFO timing and a dash orb timing in the ship game mode. To end off this boss fight, the word "Doomsday" pops up to transition to the next boss.
- 46-56%: The third boss starts with an extremely brief cube, as all there is in it is a yellow pad launching the player into a ship portal. This ship part once again features mild straight flying, though the lasers being shot at the player are much more intense than the lasers in the previous part. The size switches from mini to big once as well. Eventually, the game mode goes into UFO, where the player must do one jump, only to go back into another ship portal. In the ship portal is a green orb that the player needs to press to quickly avoid the lasers the boss is emitting. Then, the player must press some random orbs flying everywhere, as well as portals. After the player taps a random red orb, the game mode switches into a cube, where the player simply taps a green dash orb only to be sent into an anti-gravity portal with yellow pads in it into a green orb. The game mode quickly switches into a ship, where the player simply has to hold to not die. After this, the player is now a wave, but this wave segment is short-lived, as it is just a spam. Next, the game mode is a ball. This ball gameplay, while it is fast, it's not exactly difficult, as it's just a few orbs. It ends with a pink dash orb, leading into another wave spam, only this time a little more tilted up than just straight. Swiftly, the game mode becomes a cube, but once again, it's simply a green dash orb. Following this is a ship section. This ship section is not based on straight flying, but rather orb hitting. A yellow orb, a black orb, and another black orb. After the third black comes to an auto mini-cube. This leads to a simple UFO spam. Next, the game mode becomes a cube, containing only two green orbs. Finally, the player gets sent into an auto ship segment. There is some text scattered throughout this segment, as the boss' one eye says "OVERLOADED" and he falls to the ground. Then, some text appears in the background saying "Entering... city Neon 18" which is a reference to the prequel of The Eschaton, NeoN 18.
- 56-63%: Immediately after the third boss comes the fourth boss. While still being chaotic, the level slows down to 2x speed, and the game mode becomes a cube. In the background, the player will be able to see a robot, mainly the one from the first level in Xender Game's boss series, Boss 3 Electro. The robot has two fists, and he occasionally punches them into the ground or into the roof, creating quick waves in the ground every time. The gameplay is very simple in this first cube, though there are some fake orbs that the player cannot press. The size also switches a bunch of times. Next, the game mode switches to a ball, and this ball has a lot more slopes than the previous cube section. The size also switches a ton. At the very end, the player presses three orbs, the last one being a dash orb, and this dash orb slows down the level to 1x speed. But, the 1x speed quickly accelerates to 2x speed, as the game mode is now a robot. The gameplay is still very simple, as it's just jumping and hitting orbs. Next, the player goes into a ship portal. This ship segment is a bit more complex, as there are plenty more portals and orbs. The size switches once as well. Finally, the game mode converts into an auto cube, which is a transition into the next part.
- 63-68%: Now the level becomes a bit less chaotic, as it slows down to half speed, and the player is now in the spider game mode. While the gameplay is very simple, there's also some text scattered throughout this part. They all read out "The unstoppable, the termination, the finale, this is the end. No, this is just the beginning."
- 68-76%: Then, the second pre-drop starts. Instead of it being 2x speed just like the first pre-drop, it's in 3x speed, due to the fact that it's building up to one boss more intense than anything in the entire level. The game mode begins in a cube and the player has to spam a ton of orbs to get past. At 70% the size becomes mini for about 1% of the level and then switches back to big after tapping on a dash orb. The rest of this cube section is full of spam. At 72%, the player becomes a ship, and the player alternates between anti-gravity and regular gravity before proceeding into mild wave spam. The game mode then switches back to ship, but instead of alternating modes with gravity, the level alternates modes with size. Then, a simple wave spam transitions the player into an auto 4x speed cube. At 75%, the game completely slows down, and text appears on the screen saying "Final Boss Stage" and "Reaper".
- 76-85%: And here is the fifth boss. It is extremely intense, as it immediately speeds up to 4x speed in the ship game mode. It starts by the player progressively going upwards and eventually going downwards from a green dash orb leading into wave spam. Next is a short auto segment with 2 slopes and some game mode changes, but it ends in a dash orb. This dash orb leads into a very brief straight fly and then some black orb timings. After these timings are over, the player turns into a ball and must press on a green dash orb to survive. Next are two green orb timings in the UFO game mode and some mild straight flying with a handful of size changes. Following this, the player gets launched into a 3x speed ship portal after hitting some yellow pads in the cube game mode, and this section contains a number of different size changes, while the player must try to avoid getting hit by the boss' lasers. Then, the speed accelerates back up to 4x speed and the player is in the cube game mode again, but this segment only contains black orb spam and a dash orb. After the dash orb, the player has to control in a mini-ship to not get hit by random glowing spikes everywhere to only hit another dash orb leading into a UFO spam. Finally, the speed slows down to 0.5x speed, and then 1x speed right away. The decoration here consists of random digital clocks such as 12:13, 18:17, 10:11, 6:18, and 8:00. The part ends with big, blinking text showing up and saying "IT HAS BEGIN".
- 86-96%: Next is Phase 2 of the fifth boss and this part is seen as the most intense and most famous part of the level. Right when the player touches the 4x speed portal, the boss immediately upgrades and goes berserk and shoots lasers everywhere. The player starts as a ship, and nearly right away, the player must tap orbs to the beat of the music, such as red orbs and black orbs. After the second red orb, the player has to spam very quickly in the wave game mode. Right away, the player must press a black orb into another ship section. This ship section is a bit shorter as the player just taps a single teleportation orb to eventually get into a cube portal to press a black orb and a dash orb. Straight after the dash orb, the game mode becomes a spider, but this spider is short-lived, as once again, it's just a few orbs. Then, the player switches to a ship again, and like the previous ship segment, it contains just teleportation orbs but instead of one, it's three. Right after the third one, the player does another wave spam. Next, the player converts to a UFO, and this UFO section is once again a lot of orbs, they consist of teleportation ones, red ones, black ones, and pink dash ones. Following this is once again another wave spam, but this one is slightly upwards instead of straight, similar to what happened earlier in the level. Then, the game mode becomes a cube, but it is auto and very brief. It contains a slope and this slope launches the player into a mini-ship where they simply just hold and do some mild straight flying. Next is a dash orb in the robot game mode, leading into a very precise UFO spam with teleportation orbs in it. Eventually, this would turn into a wave, and then a ship segment where the player must hit two trigger orbs to survive. Finally, the player comes into a scene where the final boss is breaking down with some words to go along, such as "Dimensional Breakdown" and "Back to Reality".
- 96-100%: Just like 0-2%, this part is simply just nine little spike jumps. After the ninth one, the percentage is 98%, and the screen and fades to black and the end screen pops up.
