Theory of Everything II v2

―Neptune

ToE II v2 (short for Theory of Everything 2 v2) is a 1.9 solo Hard Demon created, verified and published by Neptune. It is a remake of the main level Theory of Everything 2. It was Neptune's last level before leaving Geometry Dash in 1.9. It is considered to be his hardest v2 level. This level contains numerous fakes, tricky segments and the infamous bugged gravity portals in the wave segments.

Gameplay[]

This level follows the same sequences as the original Theory of Everything 2; however, the level features additional triple-speed portals, gravity portals in the wave segment, and numerous fakes and trolls. In addition, it also contains a quadruple-spike at 47% instead of the normal triple-spike.

  • 0-11%: The level starts with a moderately tricky single-speed cube section featuring numerous fake orbs and a couple of timings.
  • 11-16%: The player then transitions into a double-speed mini-ship segment with invisible blocks, tight spaces and multiple gravity switches--a tricky ship segment that requires some skill. There is an opening section in the slope to go through, but the player must carefully avoid the invisible saw blades.
  • 16-19%: After that, there is a UFO segment with multiple gravity switches and difficult timings. This part should be memorized via a click pattern like most UFO segments are.
  • 19-24%: Next is a double-speed ball section with many fakes to try and throw the player off.
  • 24-27%: The ball maze transitions into another UFO segment. Very similar to the first one but with a mini-portal in the middle of this section.
  • 27-35%: Following this is a difficult memory cube maze. The blocks with glowing outlines are the real blocks.
  • 35-43%: After hitting two yellow orbs, the player transitions into a ship segment. The following segment has multiple gravity and mini-portals, attempting to throw the player off, as well as structures and sawblades made from invisible blocks. This segment requires some decent ship control.
  • 43-50%: The player enters a cube section with a few fakes. At the start, the player must avoid a fake block and hit a well-hidden yellow orb, followed by two orbs coloured pink and blue. The player must avoid hitting a fake blue orb, and after that, the player hits a blue pad and falls into a seemingly dangerous pit. This pit does not kill the player. The player must jump over a triple-spike before holding into a quadruple-spike jump decorated as a Clubstep monster, followed by a short auto segment right before the second drop of the level.
  • 50-56%: After the break, the player is immediately brought into a triple-speed wave segment with consistency spam and gravity portals to throw the player off. Double-clicking or a precise timing is required to avoid crashing when going through the gravity portals.
  • 56-62%: The player, still in triple-speed, turns into a ball, and another memorization segment begins. Unlike the original Theory of Everything 2, the real and fake blocks are the same colour, and no fading blocks cover the real ones. Instead, the block outlines from the cube section right before the second ship are used to show the real blocks. A yellow pad brings the player into the next segment.
  • 62-67%: This section transitions into another consistency spam wave segment. Gravity portals are present in this part, functioning similarly to the ones in the previous wave segment.
  • 67-71%: The player turns into a mini-ship with gravity portals. The obstacles present in this part are the fading saw blades. The player then takes another break as a normal-sized cube.
  • 71-80%: This is a slow cube segment comprised of basic structures and orbs. No fakes are present in this part, and the player enters a mini-portal right before the next part. The transition itself requires a minor timing.
  • 80-84%: Following the previous part is a slow regular ship segment, containing a few gravity portal switches and careful ship manoeuvring.
  • 84-100%: The third and final drop of the song occurs. At the start, there is a double-speed cube section with deceptive platforms. Next is a difficult UFO section. Afterwards is a short yet nerve-wracking half-speed mini-wave segment that has caused a few players to crash. The level ends with a single-speed cube section containing some short orb memory, followed by invisible spikes that require the player to jump on a platform supposedly solid but composed of fake blocks.

Bugs[]

  • During the ship transition at 11%, the player can be flung to the structure below, likely due to the rapid gravity portal switches combined with the blue pad.
  • It is not necessary to hit the fourth blue orb at 23%, as the player can land on the slope below it and get carried into the UFO transition.
  • The infamous gravity portals at 55% are positioned where the player must double-click or click precisely to avoid hitting the surrounding structures. Because of this, they have served as a major chokepoint to most players attempting to beat this level.
    • Another gravity portal at 65% suffers a similar situation, being placed too early for a smooth transition.
  • During the ball maze, it is possible to enter the following wave section upside down by staying on the solid block above the block with the yellow pad.

Fails[]

  • Zobros crashed at 97%.[1]
  • Roby GD crashed at 95%.[2]
  • ZenthicAlpha crashed at 91% twice.
  • Apple0726 crashed at 98%.[3]
  • EricVanWilderman initially crashed at 91% and then 88% while re-beating it years later to make a video.

Trivia[]

  • The level cannot be copied.
  • The level contains 14,667 objects.
  • The level is 1m 29s in length.
  • This is currently Neptune's final level and his fourth hardest one (according to the community), with the hardest considered to be Necropolis.
  • There is a fan-made sequel to Theory of Everything 2 called TOE III. This level and TOE III are not connected; however, they are both rated Hard Demons.
  • After the release of this level, there was growing suspicion of Neptune hack-verifying his levels, causing him to quit promptly afterwards.
